The Problem of Thor

Thor is a German Shepherd-Chow mix who is a very shy and timid dog. From what I understand, the previous owners were not too kind to him. He is also blind in one eye. His current owners are church members and have had him for several years.

The problem is his shyness or perhaps distrust of anyone new.

So, the challenge is to get Thor to trust me enough to eat out my hand.

This evening I came quite a bit closer, he finally allowed me to touch him. He even came up to me to be petted and scratched for a few short moments - that is a major breakthrough.

Thor's favorite pasttime is fetching his favorite toy. The funny thing - I brought him a biscuit and he didn't have the least interest in it...neither did the cat! Hmm...well, I'm not about to taste it to see if they are right, so I may just have to buy a Slim Jim or other such treat.
