"Could it be that God keeps us in Heaven's waiting room to perfect our faith?"
God isn't just interested in having us accept Him, He wants to perfect us, to refine us, to foster growth in our lives so that we become more and more like Him. Once we give our lives to God (and this should happen every day) we enter God's workshop where He works on us.
Things are starting to take shape. Looks more like a boat and one begins to see what it is supposed to look like.
When God takes each of us, He starts working on us where we are at and works towards the finished product He has in mind.
It may take a bit of time but God has a purpose for each of our lives. He has started building us in Him and He will see it through. Trusting God to work can be difficult and we may not always understand why, but He does have a plan.
Psalm 27:14 "Wait on the LORD: be of good courage, and he shall strengthen thine heart: wait, I say, on the LORD."
Hebrews 12:2 "Looking unto Jesus the author and finisher of our faith..."
There is a phrase that I have often heard when discussing legal contracts - "the devil is in the details". A contract may look good on the surface but one has to get down into the nitty-gritty to find out what it really is like. It raises a good point. We may be good overall, but God just isn't interested in the general picture, He is interested in the details too. He pays attention to the small touches that we may more perfectly reflect Christ who is the "real thing" that we are to be modeled after.
Philippians 1:6 "Being confident of this very thing, that he which hath begun a good work in you will perform it until the day of Jesus Christ:"
